Remember the show Eight is Enough? OK, if you don't remember that then my title isn't funny... overlooking the possibility that it may not be funny even if you do remember Eight is Enough.
So, what the hell am I talking about. Well, nine bags of river rock was just the start. Got all the steps in the previous post completed today and with each bag of rock I spread it seemed like I hadn't covered any more ground at all. I wish now I'd just had a 1/2 load of rock delivered, but now that I'm into it I'll just keep running to Lowe's until I get enough coverage.
Here's the rest of the back yard. Got the planters going, bought a new comfy chair. Now as long as the bone head across the green belt doesn't kill me with a golf ball it'll all be great. Yeah, about 9:30 last night the loudest WHACK on the side of the house by the fire place nearly scared me to death. I'd wondered where the golf balls were coming from that I was finding in the yard... the stupid hillbilly family across the greenbelt figure it's their own personal driving range. I went outside and heard a party going on across the way so went upstairs and screamed that they were hitting a house! They got quiet but nobody responded. It doesn't hurt the siding, but hitting a window would really piss me off and it's just a matter of time.

Game called for rain!
It's been a while since I had anything much worth talking about, not that this is going to qualify either, but I don't want Blogger deleting me for inactivity. Work has enveloped me the past 8 months or so, but now spring is here and there's yard work to be done.
Today's project is getting rid of a particularly swampy troublesome spot in my yard. The north side of the house was a mess and either a muddy mess or just a big clump of moss (no Mom, not moths).
Step one. Dig out the grass/moss.
Step two. Reposition the boarder.
Step three. Put down a weed barrier.
Step four. Lay the pavers and then fill in the blank spots with gravel.
Step five. No more muddy feet.
Before the rain drown me out I made it through step 1.
Forgot to get a picture before starting, but imagine the round and square pavers still in place and no grass dug out.
Nearly done, and wouldn't you know it, the inevitable misty stuff from the sky starts to fall.
Got the grass and moss all scooped up, but the mud was too slippery to continue so had to stop for today. Pretty good sized puddles are growing as the rain continues.
Yeah, the rain can be annoying sometimes, but look at that brilliantly green grass and trees! It's so well worth it.
More to follow!
